A NEW DAWN FOR COOPER CITY
From mother and wife to Mayoral candidate,
teacher to business owner Lisa Conlon Dodge
looks at life with optimism and a determination to
give her all to family and community.

As a
20-year veteran of the police force, she is
more than prepared for the challenges that life often
throws a person both professionally and personally,
but Lisa embraces her active life with an upbeat
energy.  Most recently, Lisa officially threw her hat
into running for Mayor of Cooper City.

“I love owning my own business, and teaching
children is a passion, but I also know that as Mayor
I can help my community in a more profound way,”
she said.  “I retired from the police force so I can
pursue all of these dreams.”

She began her career in public service as a police
officer for Virginia Gardens where she won
numerous awards for her outstanding dedication
and accomplishments, especially working with
youth.  She acted as a lieutenant and interim chief, a
member of the Multi-Agency Gang Task Force
(MAGTF), a Drug Abuse Resistance Education
(DARE) officer, Line Supervisor and School
Resource Practitioner.  She later joined the Key
Biscayne force, which also included a position in the
Customs Division.

In addition to her law enforcement career, Lisa
received her
Masters Degree in Education from
Nova Southeastern University
so she could
become an elementary school teacher.  During the
school year, she teaches Fourth Grade at St. Mark
Catholic School in Southwest Ranches.

And though her schedule keeps her busy, she can
often be found talking with the patrons at her
business, Attitudes Salon and Boutique in Cooper
City.  After only a year in operation, Lisa expanded
her business with new spa services, a unique
boutique, more staff and additional space.

A true Floridian, Lisa was born in Miami.  She
currently lives in Cooper City with her husband,
Charlie Dodge, who is Pembroke Pines City
Manager, and her two children.
